Information and Instructions for Applying for the Certification to Secretary of State

Upload stock ownership and Officer/Director/Shareholder information as a .pdf. Ownership must total 100%. You may use the form found HERE. You will need to fill out this form, save it to your computer and upload it below under Stock Ownership Information.
The Firm Compliance Administrator will issue to you via email a Certificate for Filing which must be attached to your Articles of Incorporation (Form PC-05) and filed with the North Carolina Secretary of State. Contact them at North Carolina Secretary of State Business Registration Business Registration (sosnc.gov). The Certificate for Filing as issued by the Board of Architecture and the Articles of Organization as issued by the Secretary of State are necessary documents that lead to firm licensure, they do not permit a firm to practice architecture.
The Secretary of State will issue to you “Filed Articles of Organization.” Please send a copy of them to the Firm Compliance Administrator tyler@ncbarch.org. At that point, you will be issued a firm license.
